OUTWEST OUTFITTER HUNTS ...
All hunts start out at The Lake Stop Lodge -- our cozy lodge at the edge of Lake DeSmet nestled in the shadows of the Bighorn Mountains in north central Wyoming. From there we will get you ready for the coming hunt.

Practically Speaking, we'll check to be sure everything is in order the first day you arrive -- checking for licenses and you will need to purchase a conservation stamp, which we have on hand.  Then we will take you to our shooting range to site-in your rifle and get some practice in.  Finally on that first day we'll provide some brief orientation.

Meals:  Each morning before the day's hunt, you will have a continental breakfast before you leave.  Of course, once you fill your tags you can sleep in a little and have a full hot breakfast. While out on the day's hunt, your guide will bring you hearty lunches which we have prepared and will leave you energized and ready to continue the hunt. When you return, we will have a delicious full multi-course meal in the evening.
   
Guides and Staff:  Our guides are the best -- see our testimonials page for proof of that -- they will help you identify trophy game and make sure you are shooting at game with which you will be pleased.
   All of our staff realize that harvesting trophy game is what you have come here for,  but we also offer so much more!  We want you to be satisfied with your whole stay with us. Once you fill your tags we will keep you well entertained. You can fish, prairie dog hunt, coyote hunt, and go site seeing at a wide variety of historical sites nearby.  After all this is the land where most of those great Cowboy and Indian Wars took place. Wyoming has so much to offer and we want to share it with you while you are here with us.

What You Can Expect: A great adventure combined with a great hunt and the best guides around -- bar none!  Each day you can expect to be taken to our hunting leases where the game is plentiful and each night you will eat a hearty Western family style meal back at the Lodge.  Then just sit back, relax and rest up for the next day's hunt.

What to Bring: If you have never hunted before ... First, you need to bring your WYOMING License for your hunt, your rifle, one article of orange (hat or vest) and we highly recommend a good camera. All bedding and towels are provided, you just need to bring your personal toiletries. If you forget something or don't have it...don't sweat it! We have some great sports outfitters nearby where we can take you for provisioning.

What You Need to Think about for Returning Home with Your Trophy and Meat: You can have a local taxidermist take care of your trophy or our guides can cape it for you to take back home to your own taxidermist. Also, your meat can be shipped from the processor here or you can take it back with you. We're not sure which is more economical these days with the airlines charging so much for luggage. There are shipping companies nearby that offer both UPS and FEDEX.
